"49th Araw ng Laguindingan"

                      TABAKO FESTIVAL

      The municipality of Laguindingan celebrate its charter day or "Araw ng Laguindingan". Four days of festivity to honor the main livelihood of the municipality, the "Tobacco".

      The festivity started on 10 to 13th day of July  this year. On the first day, the activities were the parade of the whole municipality with the drum and lyre corr of Mauswagon elementary school and Sambulawan Elementary School with the Laguindingan National High School Drum and lyre Band and with the employees of the LGU of Laguindingan.

        Of course, "Araw ng Laguindingan" cannot be completed if the beauties of Laguindinganon will not be put into competition for it's "Miss Laguindingan 2012". Every Barangay's must have there beauties line up to represent for the beauty pageant. The candidate who will be crowned "Miss laguindingan 2012" will be represent the Municipality of Laguindingan in any Provincial activities.

                                                                                               

       On every event or any activities of the "Araw ng Laguindingan", San Miguel Beer has never been so much supported to the municipality for every charter day of the municipality, the San Miguel Corporation support for it's Disco Concert held at the Poblacion Gym headed by the the Barangay council of Poblacion. "Maglingaw ta bai" for the youth to enjoy a 1-night jamming with the bands from Cagayan de Oro City and Cebu City.

       "Tobacco Festival" is the name of the festivity for the Araw ng Laguingingan. It  successfully made the Municipality of Laguindingan more popular not only for upcoming Laguindingan airport but, for its livelihood product the tobacco. For three years when tobacco festival started. When "Tobacco Festival" first started, the 11 barangay's of Laguindingan compete to take the title of winning for the "Tobacco Festival". But this year is differen, for the municipality of Laguindingan sets the tobacco festival to invite all the municipality that interested to join the said festival..

         Five participants was able to compete on the tobacco festival. The visitor from the Provincial Tourism, who was the judges for the said competition was happy to see all the participants of the competition. It was successfully ended and the barangay of Sambulawan who represent the municipality of laguindingan won there 3rd consecutive title of winning the "Tobacco Festival". 

     



            The Municipality of Laguindingan hope to continue the festivity for every year and hoping that it will be much more festive for the years to come.
